Being Present by Dwelling with People and Cultures: Steve Anderson, Superintendent of Grace International School in Thailand

Steve Anderson has served as the Superintendent of Grace International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand, since 2018. He has provided visionary leadership and oversight to fulfill the school’s mission, vision, and values. Steve works closely with the school's Thai Director to ensure that the legal and operational functions of the school comply with the standards and expectations set by Thailand’s Ministry of Education.

He skillfully navigates cultural nuances to ensure that the U.S.-based curriculum meets both local and international accreditation standards. Steve oversaw the school’s relocation from a temporary location to its current 44-acre, purpose-built facility. He has collaborated with the senior leadership team to achieve a Healthy Scoring of 4.15 from the Best Christian Workplace Institute. Currently, he is overseeing the sixth-year review cycle for dual accreditation with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Additionally, he manages the financial operations of the school’s $3 million operational budget.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Education degree from Samford University and his Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Covenant College.
